PAWUK draws inspiration from the Belarusian tradition of the Pawuk — intricate geometric structures traditionally crafted from straw and suspended within the home as symbols of harmony, protection, and prosperity.
The artwork transforms this centuries-old tradition into a contemporary composition of architectural forms and interlocking diamonds. Toward the base, fragments begin to disappear into darkness, representing the fragility of heritage when knowledge and tradition are no longer passed forward.
