The moon jar — dal hangari — is one of the most quietly radical objects in the history of art. Made by joining two large bowls at the rim, each one slightly different, slightly uneven, and entirely unique, it embodies the Korean aesthetic of baegun: the beauty of the plain, the pure, and the imperfect.
